Summers' day
and summers' first night
Summer's heat
no delight.
He walks alone
down heated roads.
He carries burdens
worn like clothes.
He calls to strangers
he once called friend.
Seems they've moved on
though, they said, "it'll never end"
He wanders places
he used to haunt
and muses over
the things he used to want.
All gone now
dreams have closed
his imperfections
have been exposed.
Summertime
is not his best.
Weary to the bone.
Finds no comfort in rest.
Karma, plays a role
no doubt.
For now he wanders
empty within and still without.
Dreams deferred
another day.
Passion filled nights
have gone away.
Goodnight dream lover,
with summers' soft kiss.
In time you'll discover
all that I now miss.
